Pablo Paz confirms Nico wanted to stay despite Madrid's interest.
Nico Paz has decided to continue his development at Como, turning down the opportunity to return to Real Madrid this summer despite the club's strong desire to bring him back.
Speaking about his son's decision, Pablo Paz revealed that Real Madrid were "100%" interested in activating their buy-back option. However, Nico felt that staying at Como was the best step for his career, especially with the club set to compete in the UEFA Champions League.

Pablo also highlighted that Nico feels completely at home at Como, praising the club's ambitious project, the coaching staff, the positive atmosphere, and the city itself. While Real Madrid still retain a buy-back clause and could bring him back in the future, the midfielder is delighted with his current environment and believes remaining in Italy is the right decision for now.
"He feels very loved and is delighted to stay at Como. This is the best option for him," Pablo Paz said.

Nico Paz remains one of the brightest young talents developed by Real Madrid. While another season at Como could accelerate his growth with consistent minutes and Champions League football, many Madridistas will hope to see him wear the white shirt again in the future. Allowing a player of his potential to leave permanently could prove to be a significant loss if he continues on his current trajectory.
